About the Cottage

The building has a large airy bunk room with 24 beds. The Guiders’ room has 4 bunks and a wash-hand basin. In the washroom there are 5 wash-hand basins, 2 toilets and shower facilities.

The common room retains the original fireplace, with traditional wheel bellows, and ample table and chairs. The large window gives a good view of the surrounding countryside.

The fitted kitchen has a large cooker with gas hob and electric oven, 2 sinks, a fridge/freezer, microwave and serving hatch to the common room.

The lobby has a toilet, hotpress, public telephone and an area for outdoor boots or shoes. The whole building has gas central heating and full fire precautions.

At the rear is a car park for about 6 cars. There is a large grassed area on two levels, with a permanent campfire site and provision for small tents.

A short distance from the foot of the hill is a good general store and garage and there are supermarkets and other shops in nearby Ballincollig. Buses to Cork City and Coachford pass by the end of the hill.

The Cottage is available to rent all year round.
